The Public Accounts Committee has directed Nab to investigate the case of alleged unfair allocation of LPG quotas to Gen (r) Maqbool, Gen (r) Muneer Hafiz and Gen (r) Saeed-uz-Zafar. It is alleged that these generals obtained LPG quotas by misusing the positions they held during the military rule of Gen Musharraf. This step is indeed commendable.
I still remember the sermons delivered by Gen Maqbool and Gen Hafeez, in their capacities as chairman Nab. They talked vociferously against the menace of corruption and misuse of power and accused civilian governments and politicians of indulging in both.
