This refers to The News’ report about the bomb blast which occurred in Peshawar on June 8 in which 19 people were killed and several wounded. The report stated: “Emergency was declared in the Lady Reading Hospital and the employees were actively involved in providing healthcare to the victims. As the CT scan and MRI machines of the hospital were not working, the patients in need of such tests were taken to facilities outside the hospital,” (June 9, 2012).

I am shocked at the absence of such necessary equipment in one of the leading hospitals of a city where bomb blasts and killings have unfortunately become frequent. Where is the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government?
