KARACHI: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will organise trials for Pakistan boys 16 and under teams for the Junior Davis Cup pre-qualifying round of Asia, which is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka from February 29 to March 6, 2016.
Pakistan were the runner-ups in the last year’s event which was held in Malaysia.
Trials to select a three-member team will be held at Dilawar Abbas Complex in Islamabad from December 27 to 30.
Six top players, along with one wild card each from Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, will take part in the trials.
Players will be divided into two groups. Two players from each group will be selected for the second phase where they will play round robin matches for selection of the three-member team.
The player at the fourth position after the final trials will be the standby player. Muhammad Ali, Nauman Aftab, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, Shoaib Khan, Aqib Umer and Hamza bin Rehan have been asked to report for the trials.
