KARACHI: Pakistan Karate Federation’s (PKF) president Mohammad Jahangir was elected on Friday as member of the executive committee of the Asian Karate Federation (AKF) in its congress meeting at Yokohama in Japan.
This is the first time that any Pakistani has been elected as member of any wing of the Asian karate governing body.
Chang Kuang Huei of Chinese Taipei was elected as president, while Shigeo Kurihara of Japan got elected as secretary.
Others who won the ExCo seats include Alamjon Mullaev (Uzbekistan), Yu Kang Chau Kenny (Hong Kong), Che Kuong Im (Macau), Mohammad Ali (Malaysia), Vu Son Ha (Vietnam), Mouin Abdel Majeid (Jordan) and Daeej Jassem Mohd Rasool Raisi (UAE).
