PARIS: A Thalys train headed for Paris from Brussels was delayed an hour Saturday after two stowaways locked themselves in a toilet, a train spokesman told AFP.
The incident came six weeks after a suspected jihadist opened fire on a Thalys train bound for Paris from Amsterdam, injuring two people.
On that occasion on August 21, several passengers including off-duty American servicemen overpowered the gunman.
The spokesman for the French SNCF network said the pair discovered Saturday, described as “two migrants without tickets or papers”, hid in a baby changing room.
Last month, another incident saw Dutch police evacuate part of Rotterdam station after a man locked himself in the toilets of an Amsterdam-to-Paris Thalys, forcing train services to be suspended for several hours before he was arrested.
