ISLAMABAD: Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Rehman Malik on Monday said doctors are a respectable section of society and their problems should be resolved through negotiations instead of baton charge.
In a statement issued here, he condemned the misbehaviour and baton charge against young doctors by Punjab authorities and said that the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should come out of his camp and play his role in resolving issues, created through bad governance in the province.
The advisor said Shahbaz Sharif, who is fond of strikes and leading rallies, should have led doctors strike to fulfill his desire.Shahbaz Sharif has always acknowledged the civil servants when they protested against federal government but he (Rehman) questioned that when young doctors brought their problems they were misbehaved and baton charged?
Rehman Malik said the chief minister should address the issues of doctors through talks in an amicable manner.He said those who are observing strikes against the Federation should have informed the nation that when they are going to resign after accepting their incompetence.
The Adviser also asked the young doctors to initiate dialogue process with Punjab authorities instead of taking law in their hands. He expressed the hope that chief minister, Punjab would act upon his advice and adopt appropriate measures to bring development in all sectors including health.
