32 prisoners released from Adiala Jail before Eid

Under the directions of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice, Justice Iqbal Hameed ur Rehman, a five-member judicial team visited the Adiala Jail and ordered the release of 32 prisoners involved in petty crimes.
The prisoners were ordered to be released as a good will gesture on humanitarian basis before Eidul Fitr and to provide the prisoners with a relief so that they could celebrate their Eid with their families.
The five-member judicial team comprised District and Sessions judge (West) Muhammad Azam Khan, District and Sessions judge (East) Shahrukh Arjumand, two judicial magistrates East & West Muhammad Shabbir Bhatti and Muhammad Abbas Shah and one executive magistrate/assistant commissioner Kamran Ali Cheema visited Adiala Jail and examined the case records of the prisoners and decided in their matters.
An Islamabad High Court Public Relation Officer Muhammad Tariq Channa told ‘The News’ that these prisoners will be released before Eid. The five-member team later on submitted a report before the IHC chief justice.
