I am not too sure about the possibility of having an independent Election Commission and a neutral caretaker set up. But, I don’t see any harm in setting up a truth and reconciliation commission to bridge the yawning gap between political adversaries. At the moment, half of the nation is on one extreme and the other half is on the other extreme with the middle ground being sparsely populated.
This is the state of polarisation in this country. If we do not set up a truth and reconciliation commission the vast ground between the two poles will become a black hole which will devour whatever is left of our country.
