MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice-president Amir Muqam Monday asked Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to step down as he has been convicted for contempt of court. Speaking at a reception hosted in his honour in Battagram, he said the prime minister didn’t have any legal authority to remain in his office. He said he couldn’t imagine that such warm welcome would be extended to him on his arrival in Battagram. “I am thankful to the party workers for their hospitality and I assure you that I will not hesitate to even render my life for the cause of the party.” Amir Muqam alleged that the Awami National Party-led provincial government had failed to provide any relief to the masses or undertake development work in the province. The PML-N leader said the people had been exposed to a host of problems, but the rulers were least bothered to address their grievances. He said unchecked price hike had crippled the purchasing power of the commoners.
