NOWSHERA: Terming the proposal about the withdrawal of Pakistani troops from Siachen a conspiracy, former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed on Friday said that the pullout would amount to surrendering it to India.
“Siachen belongs to Pakistan. Our troops had vacated this territory in winter but India occupied it,” he told a public gathering in Khairabad here. He said Pakistan must not withdraw its troops from Siachen unless India pulled out its troops and admitted its aggression.
Turning to politics, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that the revival of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal was important in view of the prevailing political situation and asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, to play his role in this regard.
About the situation in Balochistan, the JI leader said that the politics of provincialism should be shunned and the nation should unite to meet the challenges.
